Hi Hsn,
Jack's not around at the moment so I hope you don't mind if I answer your question :)
I've had a read of the rules and regulations about this and it seems that in 2012 it became compulsory for there always to be a team doctor on the side of the pitch, in addition to a physio.
The only people who can treat an injured player on the pitch is the club doctor or the physio. I think both of them go on to the pitch and they decide together how to treat the injured player.
Hope that helps.

Hi Emiza99
Welcome to Premier Skills English!
This is a tricky one and is about football culture as well as language. In the UK, managers do many more things than coach the players and choose the team. Managers choose new players and deal with transfers and they deal with all aspects of the club from the youth teams to the first team. A first team coach works next to the manager or, in some countries, alone but his job is to only train the players in the first team. In other countries (like Spain and Italy I think) there isn't really a manager because transfers are often chosen by the club or president.
Hope that helps!

Seriously, I'm confused between manager, coach, and chairman! Here, the coach is the person who trains the team and makes plans and methods (defending, attacking, ...), and He is the person blamed when loosing. The chairman is the owner or the sponsor of the team! I can't understand the function of manager, when listening to podcasts,I thought that is the coach because you give much importance to him!

Yes, the difference between coach and manager can be confusing and the defintion of the job can depend on the country you are talking about. A manager performs the role of coach plus he has a role in other aspects of the club such as choosing and buying players although the chairman, of course, has the money. Manager is usually the format that is used in the UK. In other countries, such as Spain, the chairman also choses the players so they hire a coach who only deals with the players. Hope that helps!

thank you very much Rich! It's ok! Here, in Tunisia, just like Spain -if I well understand some issues about football- we have not 'manager', just chairman and coach, a doctor and a physio, that's all I think. The chairman and coach do all tasks.
