Another Football Revision Activity
Another Football Revision Activity
This is a revision game based on football. Students from each team answer revision questions then pass the ball to another person on their team and until they have enough correct answers to score a goal.
Preparation
Prepare a number of revision questions that you can ask students. These could be anything from asking for antonyms, synonyms or definitions of vocabulary to correcting errors in sentences or answering grammar questions.
You’ll also need a football.
Procedure
Put the students into two teams. Make sure the students from each team a spread around the room.
Start by holding out the ball in front of you and asking a question. The first student to answer the question correctly can take the ball. They then need to decide who to pass it to in their team. Once they tell you who hey want to pass to, you ask that person a question. If they get it right, then the ball is passed to them and they then decide who they will pass to next, but if they get the question wrong, the other team has the chance to tackle and take the ball. They can do this by giving the correct answer to the question you asked. The student who gives the correct answer then has the ball and decides who on their team they will pass to.
If a team keeps the ball for 6 - 8 consecutive questions then they score a goal.
Make sure you have lots of possible questions to ask the students and keep the game going for as long as they stay motivated.
