Introduction
Rich: Hello my name’s Rich and welcome to our Monday round-up section on Premier Skills English.
Jack: Hi there. I’m Jack. Every Monday we discuss last weekend’s action, the best players, the best matches, Fantasy Football, and make some predictions for next weekend.
Rich: We want you to practise your English and interact with Premier League fans from around the world in our comments section.
Jack: You can do this on the Premier Skills English website or the Premier Skills-British Council Facebook page - if that’s where you are listening to us.
Rich: There were some great games in Matchweek 32 so let’s get on with this week’s round-up!
Headlines
Rich: City move closer to the title.
Jack: Manchester City won 3-1 at Everton and can now win the Premier League title with a win next weekend. That match is the small matter of a Manchester derby against United!
Rich: Spurs win at the Bridge for first Premier League win.
Jack: Tottenham beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge for the first ever time in the Premier League and the first time in 28 years of League football. They won 3-1 thanks to a double from Dele Alli and a long-range strike from Christian Eriksen.
Rich: Salah leaves it late for Liverpool.
Jack: Mohamed Salah got the winner against Crystal Palace to give the Reds a 2-1 win. Salah now has 29 Premier League goals this season and is five ahead of Harry Kane in the race for the Golden Boot.
Rich: So, City could win the Premier League title against United. Funny how things work out?
Jack: Yes, I can’t imagine United fans will be too happy about that happening.
Rich: Well, maybe they’ll have one eye on the Champions League match against Liverpool which is another great match to look forward to this week.
Definition Alert!
Jack: Christian Eriksen scored with a long-range strike. A long-range strike? What is this?
Rich: Well, a strike is a synonym of shot. You can shoot the ball or have a shot or a strike at goal. Long-range in football means far away from goal, outside the penalty area, so a long-range strike is a shot from outside the penalty area.
Matchweek Awards
Rich: Right, every Monday, we give out three Matchweek awards. Player of the Week, Team of the Week and Match of the Week.
Jack: In the comments section, you need to tell us if you agree with our choices …
Rich: These awards always create a lot of discussion. Last week lots of you agreed with our choices but not all of you.
Jack: Milos from Serbia, for example, felt that Newcastle rather than Burnley should have been our Team of the Week.
Rich: And Giovi from Poland felt that it should have been Manchester United for their win against Liverpool so you can’t keep everyone happy.
Jack: Let’s see who agrees and disagrees with our choices this week. Write your opinions on our Facebook page or on the website.
Rich: Let’s start with our Player of the Week. There were some great individual performances in the Premier League last week.
Jack: Christian Eriksen was great for Spurs, Marko Arnautovic looked good for West Ham and Manchester City well all their players look good every week!
Rich: But, we’ve chosen another Tottenham player after their 3-1 win at Chelsea and it’s the midfielder Dele Alli. Two goals from Alli and he made the difference on the pitch.
Jack: And our Team of the Week?
Rich: Well, Burnley kept up their excellent form with a 2-1 win at West Brom and West Ham got an important 3-0 win at home to Southampton.
Jack: But our Team of the Week has to be Tottenham Hotspur. A first win at Chelsea for 28 years. That is definitely a result Spurs fans have been waiting for.
Rich: And finally our match of the week. It would be easy to choose the Spurs - Chelsea match but we’re going for Watford against Bournemouth. The teams shared four goals and Jermaine Defoe got an injury-time equaliser for Bournemouth. A great advert for the Premier League.
Fantasy Football
Rich: What’s been happening in Fantasy Football this week, Jack?
Jack: The top scoring player in Matchweek 32 was West Ham’s Marko Arnautovic with 16 points.
Rich: I’m not sure many of you had him in your teams.
Jack: Jack: Where is the Premier Skills team in the Premier Skills Fantasy football league?
Rich: We’re up to 9th place so doing pretty well. The team of the week this week is Skye FFC managed by Gilbert Asamoah-Ewusi a Liverpool fan from Ghana. His team got 78 points!
Matchweek Prediction
Jack: Rich - your prediction for Chelsea against Spurs last week was a win for the Blues but Spurs won 3-1.
Rich: No, not a good prediction let’s hope that I do better this week.
Jack: And your prediction is …
Rich: Well, it has to be the Manchester derby. Manchester City can win the Premier League title against their city rivals and celebrate in front of their home fans. City have been brilliant all season and I think the manager and players will want to win this one. Jose Mourinho loves to be a party pooper but I don’t see Manchester United getting anything from this one. Final score: Manchester City 2-0 Manchester Utd
Jack: But City might have one eye on that Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool.
Rich: They might but it would probably better for them to concentrate on the league!
Jack: So, you think Liverpool win?
Rich: Of course!
Jack: You heard it here first! Right, that’s all we have time for. I hope you have enjoyed this football round-up.
Rich: And don’t forget to join the discussion at the bottom of the page. And if you’ve enjoyed this podcast why not leave a rating or review and that will help other people find us.
Jack: Bye for now and enjoy your football.

I'm agree with jack and rich chose about the player and team of the week. Because Spurs beat the blues out of home after 28 years of footbal league, and Dele Alli scored two goals in this match. However, I don't have a opinion about the game of the week because I don't watch all the games and I don't watch Watford v Bouremouth.
Beside that, I'm anxious to watch City v Liverpool for Champions League, and City v United for Premier League. It's an amazing week to footbal lovers.
