Welbeck is currently the top scorer in European qualifying, with 5 goals in only 4 matches. The other goalscorer in the match was Manchester Utd's, Wayne Rooney and this weekend the two strikers will be on opposite sides, when Arsenal play Manchester Utd at the Emirates Stadium.
"I'm pleased everybody is now recognising Danny Welbeck's talent." Roy Hodgson, England manager.
What do we know about Danny Welbeck?
Danny Welbeck was born on 26 November, 1990 in Manchester, England. He was spotted by Manchester Utd when he was only 8 years old, and invited to play for their youth team. He made his Premier League debut for Man Utd when he was 17 and arrived with a bang! He scored with a beautiful curling shot from nearly 30 metres, in a 5-0 win against Stoke City. After a few first team appearances and a winning appearance in the 2009 League Cup Final, Welbeck was sent on loan to get more experience. First he played in the Championship with Preston, where Sir Alex Ferguson's son, Darren, was manager. In the 2010/11 season, Welbeck played in the Premier League with Sunderland. Welbeck returned to Man Utd's first team squad in 2011/12, and in total made 142 appearances for The Red Devils and helped them win the Premier League title in 2012/13. On the final day of the 2014 Summer transfer window, Welbeck moved to Arsenal for around £16 million.

How has Welbeck's Arsenal career begun?
Welbeck has started well at Arsenal and has scored 5 goals in 12 appearances, including his first ever hat-trick, in a Champions League game against Turkish team, Galatasaray. This season, Welbeck has been playing as a central striker for both his club and country, and his goalscoring has improved dramatically with 5 goals for Arsenal and 5 for England already. At Man Utd, Welbeck played mainly as a winger, and with competition from Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Radamael Falcao for the striking positions it was difficult for him to play in his preferred position. With Welbeck playing against his old club this weekend he will hope that he can show what Man Utd are missing.
"Welbeck's scoring goals for England, for Arsenal and he deserves all the credit he gets because he's a fantastic football player." England captain, Wayne Rooney.

I think it's a kind of respect and appreciation not to celebrate when you score against your old club because there are lots of fans that still love you so it's nice to respect their emotions.

I'm afraid Welbeck won't be in a form when he comes back. And Van Persie is definitely out of form. But his name will be written in the history of the Premier League forever.
