Player of the Week - Leonardo Ulloa
Ulloa scores twice in a fantastic win for the Foxes!
Leonardo Ulloa scored two goals at the weekend, when Leicester City played a memorable match to beat Manchester United 5-3 at the King Power Stadium. It was the first time in Premier League history that Manchester United had lost a match after leading by 2 goals (0-2 and 1-3). It was also the first time that The Foxes had scored 5 Premier League goals in a match since March 2000 (5-2 against Sunderland). There were Leicester heroes all over the pitch, including Ulloa's strike partner, Jamie Vardy, who scored 1 and was fouled for 2 penalties. But, Ulloa with 2 goals was the difference between the two sides. Ulloa now has 5 Premier League goals this season, and only Chelsea's Diego Costa is ahead of him in the race for the Premier League's Golden Boot.
"It's nice for Leo to score another 2 goals. I'm really pleased with his all-round game but it's important for him to continue scoring." Nigel Pearson - Leicester City manager.
What do we know about Leonardo Ulloa?
Ulloa was born in July 1986 in General Roca, a small city in the north of Patagonia in Argentina. He signed for local second division club, C.A.I, but only made 7 appearances before moving to San Lorenzo in Argentina's top division. He helped San Lorenzo win the Argentinian league title in 2007, before short spells at 2 other Argentinian clubs - Arsenal Sarandi and Olimpo. In 2008, Ulloa made the move to Europe, when he signed for Spanish second division club, Castellon. After leaving Castellon he signed for Spanish top division team, Almeria and scored 39 goals in 90 appearances.
"I am enjoying my time here at Leicester. I am enjoying the training every day. It is good." Leonardo Ulloa.
When did Ulloa move to England?
Ulloa moved to the UK in January 2013, but he didn't move to the Premier League. He signed for Brighton & Hove Albion, who play in the Championship, the division below the Premier League. He had a great time on the south coast of England. He scored on his debut against Arsenal, who Brighton were playing in an FA Cup match, and also became the first player to score a hat-trick at the AMEX Stadium, which Brighton had moved to at the beginning of that season.Ulloa helped Brighton reach the play-offs at the end of the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons but the team failed to reach the Premier League. Leicester City finished top of the Championship that season and made Ulloa their record signing (£8 million). He is now Leicester's main striker in their first season back in the Premier League in over 10 years.
"I don’t think about setting myself goals targets, I just think about helping the team." Leonardo Ulloa.
What other sport is Ulloa interested in?
In 2015, the Rugby World Cup is coming to England and one of the host cities will be Leicester. Leicester has a strong tradition as a rugby city, and for a short time, Leicester City and Leicester Tigers (Leicester's rugby team) shared a stadium. Argentina's rugby team will play two games in Leicester and there will be many Argentinians who make the long trip for the games. Ulloa and his Argentinian teammate at Leicester, Esteban Cambiasso can't wait to greet them!
"Maybe Argentina is more famous for football than rugby, but I’m sure the team will get great support from the people of Leicester – and, of course, from Esteban and me. Vamos Argentina!” Leonardo Ulloa.
Which other lower league strikers have been successful in the Premier League?
Leonardo Ulloa has already scored 5 Premier League goals this season, after playing the last few seasons in the English and Spanish second divisions. But, Ulloa is not the only player who scored a lot of goals in lower divisions before making it big in the Premier League.

- Ian Wright was playing non-league football before he signed for Crystal Palace, and became Arsenal's all-time top scorer before the record was broken by Thierry Henry.

I think that 5 goals are strong reasons, it's the biggest shock of the season. Manchester United was losing its normal play and Leicester had its best presentation on years. If Mant Ud. has been the main team by much years is because never played bad. Nowhere some team wins every games. That's football.
