Well done. This is the right thing to do.
If you’re satisfied that the player lying on the ground isn’t injured and the player taking the free-kick has positioned the ball correctly, then play on: the attacking team shouldn’t be penalised if they take a quick free-kick. Allow the goal to stand.

My immediate thought was a yellow card. I also chose not to allow the goal when a deliberate action has been made towards another player.

It shouldn't be allowed as goal. The main point in this position that must be considered is deliberately movement of striking. The lying player body can't be subject of knocking or hammering by the ball. Maybe there was a serious injury. My last desicion is yellow card to the striker and free-kick has to be repeated.

That one really surprises me! Even if it was the right thing to do (to allow the goal), it's not what we are used to see in professional football matches. Normally, the ref stops the game, gaining himself time to think about what is the best decision. Than the "offender" is benefited.

I remember when Beckham scored goal from a free-kick. The referee didn't blow the whistle but he did gave the sign to the players that it can be taken. The goalkeeper was surprised and shocked but the goal was regular only that he didn't know that because it was new rule.

I would disallow the goal, because the fouling defender who was still lying on the floor might need medical assistance.

I agree. Not goal because the referee has to blow the whistle or give a sign that the free kick can be taken.

I think it's depend on decision of referee at the moment. If I'm the referee I will let both side attack and defender be ready before a free kick.
