On the way to the match: Part 1
On the way to the match is a new type of collaborative and interactive audio lesson to help you develop your English skills. Jack and Rich are on the way to the match but something happens to stop them. What has happened? You have to decide!
This is part one and you have to develop the story in the comments section at the bottom of the page. We will read all the comments, suggestions and ideas and choose from them when we record part two of the story next week.
Transcript
Jack: Hi there. My name’s Jack.
Rich: And my name’s Rich and welcome to our new interactive audio series called ‘On the way to the match’ on Premier Skills English.
Jack: On the way to match is a new type of audio lesson which gives all of our listeners the chance to choose where Rich and I go and what we do.
Rich: Each story will start with me and Jack in the car on the way to a football match but something will happen to stop us getting there.
Jack: What will happen, Rich?
Rich: I don’t know, Jack. That is for our listeners to decide. You will choose what happens to us, you will decide what we do and where we go in every episode.
Jack: How will our listeners decide?
Rich: We want you to write the story. Tell us your ideas and make suggestions in the comments section on the Premier Skills English website. We will try to include all the best ideas and the story will continue in the next episode.
Jack: How long will each story be?
Rich: We think each story will be 5 or 6 episodes long and you, our listeners, have to develop the story and make sure there is a good ending, a funny ending, a happy ending or a very exciting ending.
Jack: And anything can happen?
Rich: Anything can happen.
Jack: These audio lessons give you the chance to be creative in English as each story develops. All ideas are welcome.
Rich: And you will use more complex language with other listeners in the comments section. It should be fun.
Jack: It will be fun. I’m really looking forward to hearing our listeners’ ideas. Here’s episode one.
ON THE WAY TO THE MATCH
Rich: Hey, Jack. Come on, get in. Sorry, I’m a bit late. Is it raining out there?
Jack: Just spitting. I forgot my umbrella.
Rich: You can’t take your umbrella to the match anyway.
Jack: I suppose not. I’ve been waiting all week for this match. Chelsea is always a big one.
Rich: Yeah, I’ve got a good feeling about this.
Jack: Have you got your lucky socks on?
Rich: I always wear my lucky socks on match days!
Jack: This rain is getting worse.
Rich: Can you get that for me, Jack?
Jack: Sure.
Jack: Oh, right, Yes, really. Oh no. Does he have to? Now? OK, bye.
Rich: Who was it?
Jack: You’re not going to believe this ...
Rich: Is that it?
Jack: Yes, that’s episode one. Now it’s our listeners turn. We want you to decide what happens next.
Rich: Who was on the phone?
Jack: I don’t know. Our listeners need to tell us.
Rich: What did he or she want?
Jack: I don’t know. Our listeners need to tell us.
Rich: Do you think it was good news or bad news? Will it stop us from going to the match?
Jack: I don’t know that either. Our listeners need to let us know.
Rich: OK, so we want to hear from all of you. Who was on the phone and what did they want? Let us know all your ideas in the comments section on the Premier Skills English website.
Jack: Write your ideas and discuss them with other listeners and we will choose our favourite for episode two in this series of ‘on the way to the match’.
Rich: Bye for now and enjoy your football!

The one who's calling was Jack brother which he feels a little bit sick and he needs to go to the hospital. Jack needs to cancel the match and go for his brother to fix the problem. Rich said that he has a friend who talked about this match entire week at the job, and he asked for permission to give Jack s tiket to him. Jack agreed and Rich s friend is called by Rich giving him the opportunity to watch the diseried match.

The one calling is Jack's wife, she's a waitress at a hotel in Chelsea. Jack's wife doing cleaning a hotel room, and when she opened the bathroom door she found a two tickets for the match, but this tickets include the fans zone and after party with de players, obviously if they win de game.
Jack and Rick immediately go to the chealsea´s hotel when his wife works for those tickets.

The one who was on the phone was Jurgen Klopp who’s talking with Jack about a serious injury for Virgil Van Dijk during the training that would prevent him from playing and he’s asking Rich to arrive immediately to replace him because the team is losing confidence.
Since Jurgen Klopp knows Rich since childhood , he’s sure that he can fill Virgil’s place at least tonight.
Jack was quite surprised by Klopp’s request at the end.
So the lucky socks brought luck for Rich himself and not yet for his team.
In the next episode , Rich will ask Klopp to play with his lucky socks to help them win the game.

-She was already at the stadium and she told them that there was a tremendous hole in the middle of the pitch.

After the talk with Mr.Abramovich (it was a slip of the pen in the previous comment, those surnames are both too popular not to mix them by chance :-)) Rich and Jack decided then that Jack would wear those famous socks in secret and Rich would wear Chelsea's football socks instead to please Mr. Abramovich and his gangsters.

- Rabinovich here! Is this Moon going to wear his famous lucky socks during today's clash?
- Oh, right, Yes, really.
- Then we'll get him, dead or alive, and take these pieces of bad luck from him by all means! If his life is precious to him let this dirty scouser get rid of these rags immediately!
- Oh no. Does he have to?
- It's a dead must for him. He must do it now!
- Now?
- NOW!

jack attended the call and the person on the other side called himself henry. He told Jack that it was a serious matter to discuss and that they had to come to a specific address that had been sent to Richie's number already. jack conveyed the matter to richie. they felt diappointed and confused. "who was the person? what was the serious matter he wanted to talk about? what would happen if they did go to the given address? " these thoughts ran in their minds. without a doubt, they had a feeling that if they didn't go to that address that the stranger gave, something vicious would happen. So with no choice, they drove to that address. they didn't have enough information to believe that stranger. but one prime thought was running in their minds. "why did he call at this strange hour?" they had gone to that spot with all due respect to their gut's feeling. that place given in the address was an empty land. a vast empty land. they felt anguished and frustrated. did they get fooled by a high school punk who wanted to pull out pranks on phone calls or was it more? they felt miserable for not going to the match. but there was a light rustling of the leaves on the tall tree situated alongside the empty land. Richi shouted in agony. they both got in the car and slammed the door shut. suddenly they were a lean man standing in front of the car. his body was drenched in water and tints of blood in his hands. he was shirtless with ragged jeans. Richi shouted from being inside the car "are you that henry who called us?" but silence remained in the air. he didn't answer Richi's question yet. he walked slowly towards the car's doors. jack froze as he saw the stranger's face. it was covered in blood. Richi wanted to drive away but his hands got rigid. he pushed the clutch and started the car. but the stranger gripped his hand on the door's handle and pulled it with force. the car's door flung open. he didn't look strong but yet he had the strength to pull a locked car's door. seriously who was this guy? jack hurried and called the cops but before he could utter anything his battery died.
