This book reports the results of the monitoring and evaluation of an innovative English Language Teaching training programme run by the Venezuelan Education Ministry with the support of the British Council in Caracas. 

The trainees were generalist primary school teachers in the public sector, with little or no English or experience of teaching a foreign language. Their language development and methodology training was handled simultaneously in the programme by local trainers under the guidance of UK consultants. The book was written in Spanish by the local monitoring and evaluation team.
