In this week's podcast we interview Dr Martin Lamb of Leeds University about his research into what makes inspiring teachers. Not only did the researchers look at the kinds of things that motivating teachers do, they also concentrated specifically on teachers who managed to make a long-term difference to their students' learning. Teacher motivation and energy were two of the key features in the group of teachers they identified, who came from Indonesia and China. Dr Lamb concludes the interview by raising some interesting ideas about how this research might influence teacher training and educational policy.
