The British Council are seeking three experienced and well-qualified teacher trainers to support our training team in helping local Ministry of Education tutors to cascade the English for Tanzania course to student teachers in Diploma (secondary level) teacher training colleges.

The British Council has announced the winners of the ELTons 2014. Celebrating its twelfth year, the awards, run by the British Council and sponsored by Cambridge English, are a celebration of innovation and excellence in English language teaching (ELT) from around the world.
All ESOL practitioners - from managers and researchers to teachers and trainees - are invited to join an innovative programme of practical workshops and networking opportunities, plus updates from the ESOL sector. In this webinar on 6th May, Ceri Jones will explore how a range of micro writing tasks can activate language, encourage communication and aid class cohesion. She will be looking in particular, but not exclusively, at mulit-level secondary classrooms and the challenges they bring.
TIRF – The International Research Foundation for English Language Education – is pleased to announce its 2014 Doctoral Dissertation Grants competition in partnership with the British Council. Grants of up to US $5,000 will be made to successful applicants. The application deadline is May 16, 2014.
