Since 2013 the British Council and Ministry of Education Chile Champion Teachers programme has been helping secondary school teachers engage in exploratory action research projects. This book provides nine easily accessible examples of such projects and highlights the achievements gained in spite of teachers' difficult working conditions.

Language acquisition can be hindered if learners are not in an environment which is conducive to fostering a welcoming atmosphere where all feel free to talk about themselves. This is particularly relevant to LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) ESOL learners. Through workshops and talks, this conference aimed to equip ESOL practitioners with practical ideas to address these important issues. October 2012, London.

This workshop explores what we might do to promote new ideas in language learning. Case studies from around the British Council’s global network

This collection of case studies aims to share some experiences in promoting positive attitudes and thinking around specific needs. It also aims to describe teaching and classroom management strategies to create an inclusive learning environment and positive experience for English language learners with specific needs.
