Christmas would not be Christmas without ‘A Christmas Carol’ or without Dickens. In December 2012 the British Council held a celebration of one of the greatest writers in the English language at the close of the bicentenary year commemorating two hundred years since Charles Dickens’s birth.

Lucinda Dickens Hawksley talks about the life and works of one of the UK’s greatest novelists and how her great-great-great grandfather contributed to what we know as the English Language today. The evening was chaired by Mike Solly and includes a Q&A session.
